20th Century Studios has dropped the second trailer for the legacy sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2.
It’s pretty clear that David Frankel’s 2006 fashion-centred hit has become somewhat of a modern classic among fans, so what will this new entry have in store?
Film News Blitz’s Oscar Trinick breaks down the official trailer.
What do we know about this newest entry?
Director of the original, David Frankel, is returning to direct the sequel, with Aline Brosh McKenna writing.
The film features many recognisable faces, with many of the same actors and characters returning from the first film.
Meryl Streep reprises her role as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway returns as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt is back as Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci makes an appearance as Nigel Kipling again.
Atop the returning star-studded cast comes a whole wave of fresh faces, including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Lady Gaga, Justin Theroux and B. J. Novak.
What is ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ about?
The film follows Miranda Priestly as she navigates her career amidst the decline of traditional magazine publishing, with the unpredictable media landscape playing a part in the world of fashion.
It also follows Andy Sachs’s return to the magazine Runway, whilst they reconnect with a former assistant, Emily Charlton, who is now the head of a luxury brand, holding the key to commercial success essential to the company’s survival.

What more did the trailer show us?
The newest trailer, being only 90 seconds long, didn’t give a lot away.
It features a voiceover from Stanley Tucci’s returning character with shots of all our core cast reprising their roles.
Tucci’s character Nigel emphasises the journey and the importance of Runway, and our characters seem surprised to see each other once again, with Miranda not even recognising Andy.
Very little was shown of any of the new characters, so all those big names remain a mystery for the time being.
In just over a day, the trailer has drawn in over eight million views from the primary 20th Century Studios YouTube channel alone, proving that this could be a big box office hit.
When is ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ out in cinemas?
The Devil Wears Prada 2 struts into cinemas on May 1, 2026, hoping to match the worldwide impact of its predecessor.
