The 2026 BAFTA Awards are right around the corner, so here are the hot picks for some of the leading categories.

The biggest night of the year in the British film sphere is nearly here, as the run-up to the Oscars is about to begin.

Film News Blitz’s Oscar Trinick is here to run through the bookies’ favourites.

Jessie Buckley for Best Actress at 1/25 (Sky Bet)

If there’s one actor who has stormed through award season so far, it’s Jessie Buckley.

The Hamnet actress has so far picked up a Best Actress nomination for the Academy Awards, the Actor Awards (SAG), and now the BAFTAs.

Not to mention, she has already won awards for her role as Agnes at the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, with all the nominations above yet to announce their results.

‘One Battle After Another’ for Best Film at 1/2 (Sky Bet)

The race for Best Film is looking tighter than ever this year, but Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another has been the film emerging victorious so far.

The film has already won Best Film/Picture awards from the National Board of Review, Critics’ Choice Association, the Gotham Awards and the Golden Globes.

Alongside the BAFTAs, it is awaiting its results for its Best Picture nomination at the Oscars.

Timothee Chalamet for Best Actor at 1/3 (Sky Bet)

After two previous actor-related BAFTA nominations for Call Me By Your Name and Beautiful Boy, is this finally the year for the Marty Supreme-nominated actor Timothee Chalamet?

He’s already seen wins at the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards so far this awards season, with pending Best Actor nominations also at the Oscars and Actor Awards.

This will be the star’s third Best Actor nomination at the Oscars, the others coming from Call Me By Your Name and A Complete Unknown, but if the bookies’ odds are anything to go by, this might be his best chance yet at legendary glory.

Chalamet is also honoured in the Best Picture category this year for his role as a producer on Marty Supreme.
