Martin McDonagh’s newest film, Wild Horse Nine, has dropped its first trailer with Sam Rockwell and John Malkovich playing CIA Agents.
McDonagh’s last outing, The Banshees of Inisherin, proved to be quite the acclaimed hit, with his next looking like it’s drawing back to his thriller roots.
The key details
Wild Horse Nine is written and directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker McDonagh.
His most famous works include the likes of In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and most recently The Banshees of Inisherin.
Wild Horse Nine follows two CIA agents, Chris and Lee, in 1973 Chile, as they face a trust-testing journey from Santiago to Easter Island.
Who is in ‘Wild Horse Nine’?
John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell are the leads in this film, playing two agents on a wild journey.
The legendary Steve Buscemi, Parker Posey and Tom Waits round out the rest of a star-studded cast.
Trailer highlights
From what we can gather from that trailer, expect a film similar to one of McDonagh’s earlier films, In Bruges.
This looks like it’ll be a mix between a dark comedy and a crime thriller, just like Martin’s 2008 hit.
We see Rockwell and Malkovich trading expletives and insults, making politically charged comments, and telling jokes as they traverse the landscapes of 70s Chile and Easter Island.
Malkovich’s character, Chris, seems to be someone who can’t keep his mouth shut, as there are tense moments of potentially bad revelations about the future of their characters in segments of this trailer.
When is ‘Wild Horse Nine’ in cinemas?
Wild Horse Nine is set to hit cinemas on 6 November this year.
