Hollywood icon Catherine O’Hara won an Actor Award for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series, just over a month after her death.
Comedy star Seth Rogen delivered a touching sentiment on her behalf.
Film News Blitz’s Oscar Trinick has more on this poignant win.
The award and Rogen’s powerful speech
Catherine won the award for her role in the Hollywood satire The Studio, which Seth Rogen leads.
She played the role of Patty Leigh, mentor to Rogen’s character, Matt Remick, and a former studio head.
Seth Rogen accepted the award on her behalf, delivering a sincere speech that was felt by everyone sitting in the crowd.
“I, obviously, have been reflecting on the time I was fortunate enough to spend with her and working with her, and something that I’ve just been marvelling at over the last few weeks was her ability to be generous and kind and gracious, while never, ever minimising her own talents and her own ability to contribute to the work we were doing,” Rogen began with.
“She knew she could destroy, and she wanted to destroy every day on set.
“She really showed that you can be a genius and be kind, and one of those things does not have to come at the expense of the other in any way, shape or form.
“We were lucky that we got to live in a world where she so generously shared her talents with us.”
