TV opinion: The top five ‘Star Wars’ TV series

With Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord having recently concluded, Film News Blitz writer Jonathon House decided to rank his top five favourite Star Wars TV series…

For me, Star Wars has produced some amazing shows in recent years.

Some are stronger than others, but every series on this list deserves credit for what it set out to do.

5. ‘Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord’

Yes, the first season of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord has already made my top five.

Fans have wanted a Maul series for years, and we finally got one on Disney Plus

Maul’s character in this show was developed incredibly well, the visuals were great, and overall, it was an awesome series for me.

4. ‘Ahsoka’

I loved this series. An Ahsoka show was long overdue after we first saw her in live action during season two of The Mandalorian

Seeing this character finally get her own series was amazing, especially seeing her interact with Anakin in live action for the first time.

Also, Ray Stevenson, who sadly passed away, was incredible in his performance as Baylan Skoll. Everything about Baylan’s character was great and truly memorable.

3. ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2

For me, this season was fantastic.

Season two of The Mandalorian explored Din Djarin and Grogu’s relationship really well, and we got to see Ahsoka in live action for the first time.

Everything about this season just worked.

2. ‘Andor’

The last two spots on this list were really hard to differentiate, but Andor definitely deserves second place ahead of the rest of the chasing pack.

Ever since Rogue One came out in 2016, fans wanted more from that grittier side of Star Wars, and Andor completely lived up to the hype.

The writing, tension, and darker tone made it one of the best Star Wars series ever made.

1. ‘The Clone Wars’

Yes, it’s animated, but The Clone Wars added so much lore to the Star Wars prequels and expanded Anakin’s story in a way that made his turn to the dark side far more emotional and believable.

For this fact alone, it makes The Clone Wars essential viewing if you really want to understand the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

It also introduced fan favourite characters like Ahsoka, who fans have loved ever since.

For me, you can’t call yourself a fan of the prequels if you haven’t watched The Clone Wars.
