Looking back
The teaser released on Tuesday by Warner Bros. began by celebrating Cruise’s journey through Hollywood.
A retrospective montage looked back at some of Cruise’s biggest films throughout his career.
The ending, however, surprised fans with a glimpse into his next starring role with legendary director Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
Along with the video, Cruise made a statement explaining his gratitude for his long-standing career.
Calling it his “privilege” to work in the industry, Cruise thanked the many filmmakers, cast and crew members who have helped bring his films to audiences throughout the years.
Our biggest look at ‘Digger’ yet
Despite showcasing all of Cruise’s talented performances, fans have also been given the most insight into the highly anticipated ‘Digger’.
Teased as a “comedy of catastrophic proportions,” it seems this new genre for Cruise to explore leaves us with a lot to anticipate.
Starring as eccentric billionaire oil tycoon Digger Rockwell, this first footage suggests one of Cruise’s most dramatic transformations yet.
The brief teaser saw him looking almost unrecognisable, set with a Southern accent, cowboy boots and prosthetics.
The transformation marks a sharp contrast to Cruise’s recent ‘Mission: Impossible’ performances, offering audiences a side of the actor they haven’t seen for years.
Despite only having a brief insight into the teaser, it’s definitively got people talking, potentially proving to be one of Cruise’s most unconventional roles to date.

Reactions to the teaser
Three new posters for the film have also been released, leaving everyone counting down the days until the trailer drops.
Among those reacting was American filmmaker JJ Abrams, who also teased fans in his social media response to Cruise.
Stating that his dear friend will no doubt “blow our collective mind” with his performance.
This marks Cruise’s first collaboration with the Oscar-winning director Iñárritu and his first movie appearance since 2025’s ‘Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning’.
Whilst audiences will have to wait until October to see the finished film, it’s looking to be one of the most unexpected chapters in Cruise’s career.
One thing is for sure: after 46 years on our screens, Tom Cruise is still full of surprises, and doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
