Robert Pattinson has praised stand-in director Steven Soderbergh for stepping in to help complete the shoot for Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II.
After several delays, writer/director Reeves began production on his follow-up to 2022’s The Batman this year, and filming started in June.
However, Reeves had to step away from filming last month, with weeks left on the shooting schedule, to deal with a private family matter.
Thanks to Ocean’s Eleven (2001) director Soderbergh, who personally reached out to Reeves to see if he could help get The Batman Part II over the finish line, filming is back underway.

Pattinson told GamesRadar, “I think they’re in production already. And I’m starting in a couple of days.
“I am so happy he’s [Soderbergh] come on to help Matt,” Pattinson added.
“It’s incredibly generous of him – and he’s doing it in the loveliest way.
“It’s completely selfless…I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we’re almost done.
“So for someone to come in and say, ‘I just want to help Matt do it; I want to do it in conjunction with him and just get it to the edit.’ And to have someone who’s as talented as Steven doing it is great.”
What Steven Soderbergh said about coming aboard
Soderbergh is the hero Gotham needs right now.
When it was confirmed he’d help complete the shoot on The Batman Part II, he stated that, “The goal here is to work with Matt and his team to generate footage that will integrate seamlessly with what’s already been shot so Matt can properly finish his film.”
Reeves, while thanking fans for their messages of support on social media, wrote, “I am not leaving The Batman Part II.”
DC Studios confirmed, “Matt and Steven will work closely together with the actors and crew to fulfil Matt’s vision of the film.”
