Sex, scandal and fisticuffs are on the menu for the second half of the second season of Disney+’s Rivals.
What happened the last time ‘Rivals’ was on our screens?
The mid-season finale of Rivals’ second season was full of drama.
Maud O’Hara’s affair with Tony Baddingham was unveiled; Freddie Jones and Lizzie Vereker rekindled their romance, and Baddingham’s wife, Monica, met an untimely demise after freeing herself from his clutches.
That sets a dramatic stage for the episodes to come.
What do we see in the new trailer?
Strands from the mid-season finale are pulled at in the new Rivals trailer.
Sparks are flying between Danny Dyer’s Freddie and Katherine Parkinson’s Lizzie; their relationship looks set to get even more intimate.
Meanwhile, Bella Maclean’s Taggie O’Hara is caught in a love triangle between Alex Hassell’s Rupert Campbell-Black and Luca Pasqualino’s Bas Baddingham.
But the biggest factor at play is David Tennant’s vicious villain, Tony Baddingham.
Tony, now widowed, is untethered.
We see Tennant’s grim figure sitting on the living room sofa with a rifle in hand; we hear him utter, “I’ve got nothing left to do but fight.”
Just how dastardly he could become remains to be seen.
Beyond these juicy plot points, the Jilly Cooper adaptation is full of fisticuffs, partying and the odd headboard banging, of course.

Rivals returns on Disney+ from 11 November, 2026.
