On the latest episode of A Friendly Film Take, the podcast produced by Film News Blitz, Dan Lawrence and Oscar Trinick untangle the twists wound up by The Drama.

But first, the duo take a trip down memory lane thanks to Oscar’s most recent watch, the 2006 sleeper hit Deja Vu.

Directed by the late, great Tony Scott and starring the incomparable Denzel Washington, Deja Vu is an intriguing thriller that would no doubt have been wedged on a DVD shelf in the mid-noughties.

It’s an oft-forgotten but great film, and Dan and Oscar revel in recounting it.

From 2006 to 2026, the conversation shifts to A24’s The Drama.

The dark romantic comedy starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya has been causing one hell of a stir of late.

Dan and Oscar zip back and forth on the dramatic twists and peculiar witticisms in director Kristoph Borgli’s latest flick.

The Drama is a film that lingers and is best enjoyed in a packed cinema.

That got Dan and Oscar thinking, what films would be great to go back and experience for the first time, especially in cinemas?

It’s a topic that transcends realistic thinking and tips our duo into wantaway dreams to travel back in time.

Imagine being among the first audiences to witness Darth Vader’s bombshell in The Empire Strikes Back, or to feel real fear while watching The Exorcist?
