The Amazon Prime series Off Campus, based on the books written by Elle Kennedy, has been a smash hit and is already renewed for season two.
Film News Blitz writer Bella Ford reports on this steamy phenomenon.
When will season two of ‘Off Campus’ drop?
Prime Video renewed its adaptation three months ahead of season one’s release.
This is looking like it was a good call, as the series took over the streamer’s top-10 list upon release.
Kennedy wrote five books in total, so it’s promising that each book will have its own series.
Prime Video doesn’t have a date of release regarding Off Campus season two as it stands.
Amazon’s Head of Global Television, Peter Friedlander, said: “With its passionate fan base, and rich source material we knew this series had a depth and momentum to continue beyond its first season.”
Filming for season two started on 18 May in Canada.
Fans believe that there’s a good chance that filming will wrap this year and possibly be released in Spring 2027.
Will it be book accurate?
Each Off Campus book explores a different college relationship, but season one also explored the relationship that happens in book three, The Score (Allie and Dean).
This could also mean that the rest of The Score will be adapted into season two.
It’s also unclear whether season two will follow the pattern of book two, The Mistake, which explores Hunter’s teammate John’s relationship with a freshman.
In book two, John Logan and Grace Ivers grow a relationship, which may mean a secondary love story is in the making alongside Allie and Dean.
But there’s much more to explore from The Score (book three) in season two, including Allie struggling to find her path after college and Dean’s feud with his Dad.
So season two could be a mixture of books two and three.
Who will be in the ‘Off Campus’ season 2 cast?
We imagine that most of the core cast from season one will be returning for season two.
That means audiences will likely see more of Ella Bright (Hannah Wells), Belmont Cameli (Garrett Graham), Mika Abdalla (Allie Hayes), Stephen Thomas Kalyn (Dean Di Laurentis), Jalen Thomas Brooks (John Tucker), Antonio Cipriano (John Logan), Steve Howey (Phil Graham) and Charlie Evan (Hunter Davenport).
In addition, British actress India Fowler will join the cast as Grace Ivers, who will play John Logan’s love interest.
Prime Video also announced that Hamilton and Doctor Odyssey alum Phillipia Soo will play “Scarlett, a theatre artist who is guest- directing an original play in the college’s drama department”.
Perhaps this is another hint that Dean and Allie will take the spotlight in season two.
However, it’s known that, sadly, Josh Heuston won’t return to play Justin Kohl.
