James Bond screenwriter Steven Knight has spoken on being able to write the film while knowing who the new 007 is.
Speculation is ramping up regarding who will be the new Bond.
Will it be Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, Jack Lowden, or a complete unknown?
After Gary Oldman let slip that he knows James Bond has been cast, while simultaneously backing his Slow Horses co-star Lowden, Knight has spoken about writing the screenplay with the actor in mind.
In an interview with BBC Radio 4, Knight was asked if he’d written the script with the actor in mind, or similar to the legendary 007 character alone.
“It’s a bit of both,” Knight said. “It does make life a little bit easier if you know who that person is, but also you have to write the character, not the actor.”
Knight didn’t reveal exactly when he found out about the new Bond casting, but reports suggest the general public should be informed by the end of the year.

In a further interview with host Zoe Ball on Greatest Hits radio, Knight spoke gleefully on what writing the new James Bond means for him.
A silent nod confirmed a first draft has been written, and Knight said the gig has been “immense.”
The Peaky Blinders creator added: “It’s more than bucket list.
“It’s sort of the destination of the whole kit and caboodle.
“It feels like I’m doing my duty for King and country by taking this thing on.
“I’m absolutely loving doing it.”
As a final tease, Knight divulged that he thinks the new Bond film is “going to be so good”, adding: “It’s going to be amazing.”
Amazon’s new Bond, written by Knight, will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman producing.
Casting is being carried out by Nina Gold.
